Dr Roger Bretherton
Every month, hundreds of studies are published on the psychological and physical benefits of mindful practice. In this lecture Dr Bretherton will argue that intentional mindfulness is compatible with historic Christian spirituality, and are beneficial for the development of good character and human flourishing.
Dr Roger Bretherton is Associate Professor in the School of Psychology, at the University of Lincoln. His teaching and research concerns character strengths and virtues – how positive qualities of character lead to psychological wellbeing. His recent projects have evaluated the benefits of humility in academic leaders, the role of mindfulness in character development and character strengths for church small groups.
