At this event we are delighted to welcome  Janel Curry, PhD who is currently the President of the American Scientific Affiliation (ASA). The ASA is a sister organisation to our own UK-based Christians in Science, both working to promote better relations and understanding between Christians and the scientific world.

This event will present and discuss the elements in religious worldviews that seem to be prominent in shaping religious groups’ response to public policy options for addressing environmental issues. There will be an opportunity for discussion and questions after the main presentation.

Janel Curry has a PhD in Geography and has taught Geography and Environmental Studies at Central College and Calvin University. She has done extensive research on religious worldviews and their impact on views of nature. These have included how views of the relationship among God, humans and nature affect our responses to climate change and natural disasters.
