CiS organises a number of conferences throughout the year, including an annual student conference. Students get discounts on all of our conferences and can apply for travel bursaries to help with transportation costs.
Conferences provide excellent opportunities to meet and network with other Christians in science at varying stages of their careers and we really encourage our student members to come along and get involved. You can submit an abstract to present, help with the planning, marketing, or lend a hand on the day.
At Christians in Science, we believe that God reveals Himself to us through His divinely inspired written word, the Bible, and through His creation. Science is a gift from God that allows us even the tiniest glimpse into the splendour of His universe. Therefore, we are convinced that the Bible and science are not in conflict; they can both teach us about God and His creation in important and complementary ways.
Join us at the 2019 CiS student conference as we open up our Bibles and hear from four fantastic speakers:

The conference will begin at 0930 with tea and coffee, and finish by 1630.
A free conference lunch will be provided. Please make sure you indicate any dietary requirements or allergies on your ticket booking.
Submissions for student contributions have now closed.
We can fully reimburse travel costs for those students travelling >50 miles to the conference, using any form of transport, although we encourage use of public transport where possible to minimise environmental impact. Travel bursaries will be given on a first come, first served basis, so get in touch with the Development Officer as soon as possible to make an application.
Sheffield is well connected to most major UK cities by train (~2 hours from London, ~1 hour from Birmingham, Manchester and Liverpool, ~3.5 hours from Edinburgh and Cardiff). The conference venue is a mile’s walk from the railway station. If flying, the nearest airports are Manchester or Leeds Bradford.
Talks from the 2018 student conference are available here.
