Dr. John Murray
John Murray will discuss the role of faith in ethical decision making. He will address the topic from the perspective of the 'ordinary person.' In everyday life, how can or should patients, teachers, scientists, etc. take their faith into account when facing decisions with an ethical component?
John Murray is a lecturer in the School of Theology at Mater Dei Institute of Education and is completing his PhD in moral theology. He graduated from Mater Dei Institute in 1985 and taught Religion and English in two secondary schools: Presentation College, Carlow [1985-6] and St. David's Holy Faith Secondary School, Greystones [1986-2002]. He did a Masters degree in Mater Dei [1998-2001] and began lecturing here in 2002. He recently finished a doctoral degree in theology through St. Patrick's College, Maynooth, on the topic: "The Role of Religion as a Basic Human Good in the Moral Theory of Germain Grisez".
