Christians in Science (CiS) is an international network of those concerned with the relationship between science and Christian faith, open to scientists, teachers, students and all those with an interest in this dialogue.
CiS Ireland is one of 17 local groups of Christians in Science, and brings together CiS members on the island of Ireland. CiS Ireland is co-ordinated by an elected committee. We hold regular meetings, including the God and Science Lectures in various locations in Ireland and our meetings are open to all who have a genuine interest in science-faith issues. So far we have organised three day conferences on current topics in science and religion. The first lecture in our E.T.S. Walton Lectures on Science and Religion series was given by Rev. Prof. David Wilkinson in November 2011, and future lectures are being planned.
The journal Science and Christian Belief is sent to all CiS members in April and October each year. The newsletter PreCiS is sent several times during the year, and includes articles and information about forthcoming events, conferences, and publications.
Many articles and other resources are available on the resources section of the CiS website.
Christians in Science hosts a number of conferences each year, including a London conference, a northern conference and a student conference. A residential conference will take place in Cambridge during July 2012. Occasionally, a conference is held jointly with our US sister organisation the American Scientific Affiliation.
